Teaching Salary
A teaching salary usually allows a person to manage an affordable living. There are many that still do not believe that a teaching salary is as rewarding as it should be, but many are able to sustain a decent lifestyle based upon their teaching salary. The teacher salary is still significantly low, based on the perspective of many. They feel that with the qualifications, and the level of work that is performed, the teacher salary should be much higher. In comparison to some of the other professions, and the type of work that is being performed, there are some that feel that the teaching salary is not adequate, by comparison, and when standing alone.
The average teaching salary for an elementary school teacher is at about approximately $40,000. The teacher salary for those that teach on a middle school level is approximately $41,000. The teaching salary for a teacher that teaches at a high school is at about $42,000. A special education teacher that teacher kindergarten or elementary school, earns an average teacher salary at about $41,000. For a special education teacher that teaches at a middle school, the teaching salary is at approximately $42,000. Those that earn a teacher salary as a special education secondary teacher, earn a teacher salary of about $44,000. Since the average teacher salary from these age groupings do not vary that widely, teachers are more inclined to teach on the grade level of their choice. A thousand to a couple thousand dollars a year won’t have such an impact on their lifestyles, so they are more reluctant to overlook one teaching salary over the next to teach the age group that they would like.
On the other hand, the teaching salary of a professor is slated to be on the higher end of the teaching salary realm. The teacher salary of a professor, on average, starts at about $51,000 a year. It is up to the professor to have that teacher salary go up from there. Of course, a professor is slated to receive the standard university wages, but there is a higher potential for a college to do much more with that starting teacher salary. The teacher salary can be raised by great performance, his or her work that was contributed to the field, by teaching additional classes, book writing, theory composition, etc…
